7/14 - Beautiful but Painful
Last night, while walking on the Sope Creek Trails, minding my own business, I got stung in the eyelid by one of these wasp critters. I have been stung before, but apparently it's a Big Deal when it hits your eye area. I woke up this morning with that eye swollen shut. Thankfully, the nice doctor at Urgent Care knew that I just needed two elephant syringes full of steroids and a few days of prednisone. I'm already better, but I have a charming black eye. And I have not been able to find my glasses, which I must have thrown off in the excitement. Anyway, I'll heal, and the park will have more Maypops and other wildflowers because these wasps are around to pollinate them.
